The new year is under way, and the Hawks are busy preparing for the 2010 season. Some of the activities include:

• There is the regularly scheduled board meeting on Wednesday the 20th.
• The varsity team has started is off season weight and conditioning program - contact Pete Lesner for details.

The Hawks would like bring to your attention Mike Liembach.  Mike is a pillar in our community and many of you know him personally.  Mike has been battling cancer on and off for about 8 years.  The cancer has shown up for a third time so we are asking you to please remember Mike in your prayers  and if you are interested in helping out with contributions, the Commerce Chargers have set up the Leimbach Assistance Fund at Comerica Bank which will allow anyone to go to any Comerica location and make a donation that will go directly to Mike and his family.

When going to Comerica all they have to do is indicate they want to contribute to the Leimbach Assistance Fund. Comerica will deposit the money into a specially set up account for Mike and his family and they will have immediate access to the funds to use as needed. If requested the person depositing the money will be given a "generic" receipt of the transaction that will not show the account number. Mike will be forwarded the original receipt that will show a deposit has been made by an anonymous donor.

If you prefer to send it with a personal message or greeting card, I would suggest you simply make the check out to the fund and mail it directly to Mike and Mary at:
